August 2007 Hello to Our Lady of Grace/St. Anthony CYO Supporters: My name is Frank Garza and I want to introduce myself to you. I am the 2007-2008 Track Commissioner and it’s not too soon to start thinking about Track. I have three children who attend St. Anthony Grade School and participate in all types of extracurricular activities and sports at St. Anthony/OLG CYO Program. Whether it’s soccer, basketball, baseball and now flag football, I am one of those parents that is always helping coach in order to make sure our kids get the proper instruction, and have FUN. This is my third year helping out as Track Coach and second year as Track Commissioner. Track is the perfect sport for parents looking for something for their kids to do between basketball and baseball/softball. Track season lasts only six weeks and CYO has events for kids from ages 4 to 14. I would like to talk to you about being part of our track team. Last year we had 25 participants in the Zone track meet, and eight qualified for the City track meet. OLG had two city champions, two second place finishes and the other four were top six. My goal is to have at least forty participants with at least twenty qualifying for the City track meet. Also, if you want to help, please let me know as well. Our goal is to have Track Registration to occur on December 11-13 and December 18-20 and additional dates in January. Track season will begin in early February and will be done by mid-March.
